Singer and actress Halle Bailey has been granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.), following serious allegations of physical, emotional, and verbal abuse. The Los Angeles Superior Court issued the order on May 13, 2025, mandating that DDG stay at least 100 yards away from Bailey and their 17-month-old son, Halo, until a court hearing scheduled for June 6.
Bailey filed court documents describing a troubling pattern of abusive behavior by DDG after their breakup in October 2024. One of the most serious incidents allegedly took place in January 2025, during a child visitation exchange, where DDG reportedly pulled her hair and slammed her face into a car’s steering wheel. The incident resulted in visible injuries, including a chipped tooth and facial bruises.
In another reported incident in March 2025, DDG allegedly entered Bailey’s home without her consent. He is accused of sending her a photo of her bed with a suggestive message, then destroying her Ring security camera during a confrontation. DDG also allegedly threw her phone away, cutting off her ability to call for help.
The situation intensified during a Mother’s Day trip to St. Lucia, where Bailey was vacationing with her sister and their son. DDG accused her of spending time with R&B singer Brent Faiyaz on a private island, reportedly sending her links to social media posts to support his claims. Bailey responded by stating that she was not with any man and requested to be left in peace, emphasizing that her focus was on their son, not any romantic involvement.
As part of the restraining order, Bailey is requesting full custody of Halo during her two-month work trip to Italy. She is also asking the court to prohibit DDG from discussing their personal matters online and to order DDG to complete a 52-week Batterer Intervention Program. Additionally, DDG is legally barred from possessing firearms or making any form of contact with Bailey.
DDG has not yet released an official statement regarding the allegations or the restraining order. However, during a live stream with fellow streamer Adin Ross, DDG appeared shocked by the news, repeating that the situation “can’t even be real.”
The upcoming court hearing on June 6 will determine whether the restraining order will be extended. The current order ensures that DDG remains legally distanced from Bailey and their son in the meantime.
The legal developments mark a serious turning point in the public and private relationship between Bailey and DDG. As the case unfolds, all eyes remain on the court’s next steps and how DDG will respond. For now, DDG faces significant legal and reputational consequences, and the protective order remains in place to shield Bailey and her child from any further harm involving DDG.
