Pahalgam Terror Attack: Modi Assures Justice, Amit Shah Rushes to Kashmir for Review

Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 12 tourists were injured. Modi, currently visiting Saudi Arabia, assured the nation that those responsible for the attack will face strict punishment.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he said, "I strongly condemn the terror attack in Pahalgam. My condolences to those who lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. Our fight against terrorism is firm, and those behind this attack will not succeed."

The attack happened in the Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, where terrorists came down from the mountains and opened fire on tourists.

After the incident, PM Modi spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and asked him to visit Jammu and Kashmir to take necessary actions. Shah also expressed deep sadness over the attack and said strict action would be taken against the terrorists.

“I’m deeply hurt by this attack. The terrorists will face the harshest punishment. I’m going to Srinagar to review the security situation,” Shah said.

He also held a video meeting with PM Modi and senior officials to discuss the next steps.

Meanwhile, rescue teams, including helicopters and ponies, were used to bring the injured from difficult areas. A large anti-terror operation is now underway to find and stop the attackers.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also condemned the attack. He said, “I’m shocked. Attacking innocent tourists is inhuman. I send my sympathy to the families of those affected.”

The country stands united in grief, and strong steps are being taken to ensure justice.
