Today’s weather across North India brings a combination of scorching heat and much-needed pre-monsoon showers. While Rajasthan sees heavy rainfall in several districts, Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh continue to battle intense heat and humidity, affecting daily life and public activities.
From rain-soaked streets in Kota to sun-baked neighborhoods in Noida, North India's weather reflects the classic pre-monsoon uncertainty.
Delhi-NCR: Hot and Humid with Rain Possibilities
In Delhi and surrounding NCR areas, today’s weather is expected to remain hot and humid, with temperatures hovering around 42°C. The IMD (India Meteorological Department) has indicated chances of light rain or drizzle in isolated areas, but relief from the heat and stickiness seems limited for now.
Air quality also remains in the moderate to poor range, prompting health warnings for sensitive groups, especially the elderly and children.
Uttar Pradesh: Scorching Heat in the West, Scattered Rain in the East
Uttar Pradesh continues to witness extreme heat, especially in the western districts like Meerut, Noida, and Agra, where maximum temperatures are reaching 43°C. However, parts of eastern UP, including Varanasi and Gorakhpur, received light rainfall in the early morning hours.
Today’s weather suggests that monsoon winds are inching closer, and rainfall activity may pick up in the coming days across the state, providing some respite.
Rajasthan: Heavy Pre-Monsoon Rains Hit Multiple Regions
Rajasthan has seen significant pre-monsoon action, especially in districts like Kota, Bharatpur, and Udaipur. These areas reported rainfall of over 70 mm in just 24 hours, with more showers expected in the next 48 hours.
Local flooding, waterlogging, and traffic disruptions have been reported in some areas. The IMD has issued a rain alert for the affected districts, asking residents to stay cautious during travel and outdoor activities.
Monsoon Advancing Soon, Say Meteorologists
According to experts, the southwest monsoon is progressing and is likely to cover more parts of North India in the coming week. Today’s weather might seem unstable, but it signals that the season is on the verge of shifting.
The last week of June is expected to bring widespread rain, which will not only cool down temperatures but also benefit agricultural activity across the region.
